Whilst the Cocos Islands’ lagoon is known as a great kitesurfing destination, the ocean side offers fun waves to surf. There are plenty of local die-hard surfers, although with such a small population the surf break rarely feels crowded.
The Cocos Islands offer visitors year-round swimming and diving, good surfing, excellent snorkelling, fishing, warm tropical waters, great windsurfing and kite boarding in the trade wind months and a wonderful balmy tropical climate all year.
Just backed from two weeks staying at Cocos Cottages. Superb stand alone two bedroom cottage with everything we needed. Wonderfully large open deck for eating, relaxing and watching the world go by. Good size rooms with aircon but we didn't need as the breeze throughout the cottage kept it a the perfect temperature. Bathroom with washing machine was great during room attached was a great set up. Loved the personal touches of flowers, plants and shells throughout. Kitchen wasn't a full kitchen but oven wasn't necessary and the fridge was a great size. They also supplied chilling bin for beach BBQs, and also had the essentials all there so no need to purchase. A wonderful place to stay. Will be back next year.
Well worth it
What an amazing place, and great accommodation. Came here for a week of kite surfing heaven - and it did not dissapoint. Di met us at the airport, answered all our questions, and even made our dinner reservations for us for the first night. Well appointed, can be fully self catered. Will definately come stay again.
These villas/bungalows are amazing, everything you could want, 2 bedroom, very unique bathroom with a semi out door shower, kitchen is equipped with all you need and then some, including coffee plunger, picnic basket, esky, wine cooler etc etc, the outdoor living area is huge, great day bed and the perfect place to watch the sunrise and the world go by. The managers Di and Ian are extremely knowledgeable on all island activities and there are more than you can imagine, snorkelling, glass bottom boat, surfing, kite surfing, wind surfing, motorised canoes, bikes to hire, ferry to other islands. Don't miss a brekkie and famous pie at Dory's as well as a great coffee.
